Delete your account
This page explains how to delete your account in the game "Shards of Dawn" (in Polish "Odłamki Świtu"), what is deleted, and what is kept and for how long. The details are in the privacy policy, §9.
Delete it in the game #
In the Android app and in the browser game (shardsofdawn.com/gra/):
- Log in and open Account settings (the ≡ menu or the "Settings" button).
- Go to the Data tab, section Delete account.
- Enter your password, type the word DELETE and press "Delete account".
On PS Vita: the account settings, Delete account, with the same password and word.
Your account is deleted after 14 days. All your sessions end at once, and your character leaves the world. During these 14 days you can log in: you will see the deletion date and can cancel the deletion or download your data. After the 14 days the deletion cannot be undone.
An early access application that is still waiting for approval can be withdrawn on the "Application waiting for approval" screen with the "Withdraw application and delete account" button (your e-mail address and password). Such an account has no character yet, so it is deleted at once, without the 14 days.
An account whose e-mail address is not confirmed yet cannot log in (it is deleted by itself after 7 days). You can delete it at once: try to log in, and on the "Confirm your e-mail address" screen press "Delete account" and enter your e-mail address and password. On PS Vita the same window has the same button.
After such an immediate deletion (a withdrawn application or an account without a confirmed address) we send a confirmation to the account's address.
Delete it without the game #
You do not need to install the app or log in. Write to [email protected] from the e-mail address of your account and ask us to delete it (the account's address is how we know it is you; we never ask for scans of documents). We then delete the account at once, without the 14 days. We answer without undue delay, within one month at the latest (privacy policy, §8).
We never ask for your password.
What is deleted #
- the account: e-mail address, password hash, settings, acceptance of the terms and the statement about age, the early access application;
- the character and its game state: items, gold, cards, deck, quest progress, achievements, progress and play time statistics;
- friends, the ignore list, guild membership (a master's guild passes to another member or is dissolved), auctions (gold other players put in goes back to them);
- your chat messages and the private conversations you took part in;
- invitation links, rewards claimed, and device and network fingerprints.
What is kept, and for how long #
- The trade and auction log: 12 months from the event, because other players may need it, e.g. to investigate a scam;
- reports and moderation decisions: 12 months from the closing of the case or the end of the penalty;
- backups of the database: up to 30 days. If we ever had to restore one, we would delete your account again;
- server logs: the application log 14 days, access logs overwritten automatically;
- correspondence with us (e.g. the deletion request itself): 12 months from the closing of the case.
After that, this data is deleted too. All the periods are listed in the privacy policy, §4.
